This study examines i’jāz ṭibbī in the Qur’an through the analysis of QS. al-Ṣāffāt verse 146 concerning yaqṭīn (gourd) and QS. Maryam verses 25–26 concerning ruṭab (fresh dates). This study aims to analyze the interpretation of these verses and examine their relevance to findings in modern health sciences. The research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method. The primary data consist of Qur’anic verses and classical Qur’anic commentaries, while the secondary data include books, journal articles, and scientific studies on the nutritional content and health benefits of gourds and dates. The data are analyzed descriptively and analytically by relating exegetical explanations to relevant modern scientific findings. The results show that yaqṭīn in the story of Prophet Yunus has characteristics that correspond to his condition after being released from the fish, particularly as a source of food and shade. Meanwhile, ruṭab in the story of Maryam contains nutrients that can provide energy and potentially support physical recovery after childbirth. These findings indicate that the mention of the two plants contains health-related wisdom that can be examined from the perspective of i’jāz ṭibbī, without treating the Qur’an as a scientific textbook.
